About the venue

An indelible institution in Moscow's nightlife history, 16 Tons Club opened its doors in 1996 on Presnenskiy Val as an authentic English pub before evolving into the capital's most revered live music and dance club venue. Named after Merle Travis's classic working-class anthem, the multi-level venue features a traditional wooden ground-floor pub with proprietary brewed house ales and an intimate upper-tier concert hall. Over nearly three decades, 16 Tons has welcomed legendary international indie acts and seminal Russian underground bands, transitioning seamlessly after midnight on weekends into energetic DJ dance parties spanning indie rock, synth-pop, and electronic rhythms.
